Procedures for Employment

 

Our company accepts applications anytime for possible employment at our locations.  You may print out the Application Form found on this link, complete and take to the Piggly Wiggly store for which you are applying. If there is an opening, you will be contacted by the store manager.  If you are still interested in seeking employment with our company at that time, you will need to do the following: 

 

• Management will schedule a day and time to come to the store to start the  employment process for possible hire.

 

• Bring management a Criminal Background Report from your local courthouse the day of your scheduled appointment.

 

• Once management hires you, read our Employee Manual found on this link.  (You will be given a 20 question quiz about our company polices/procedures of which you can only miss 4 (four) to proceed with employment.)  Print out the last 2 pages of this manual, complete and take to store management:

• If you are under 18 years of age, you will need to go to this NC Department of Labor link and fill out a Work Permit online, print and take to store management.

 

• Bring a copy of any of the following 2 forms of identification:  Driver’s License, Social Security Card, Birth Certificate or School ID w/photo.  If under 18, other acceptable documents include: current Report Card or clinic, doctor or hospital record. 

 

• Once you bring the above required forms to the store’s management, you will be given the 20 question quiz at that time.  Upon passing the quiz, you will be given a New Employee Packet of forms for completion at store level.

 

• Due to the availability of the Employee Manual on the website, we are not required to furnish you a copy.  You may choose to print yourself a copy or reference it online.  There is a hardbound copy kept at store level for your reference upon request.
